Job DescriptionJob Summary: Qualify potential donors and develop relationships between Cook Children's and prospects for philanthropic gifts of $25,000 or more; cultivate and solicit friends, grateful patient families and organizations for significant gifts to fund identified campaign and/or health care system priorities. Supervise Development staff, manage program budget and provide leadership and direction for gift cultivation and solicitation.Qualifications: Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program. The position requires strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to articulate accurately and persuasively the themes and issues associated with a pediatric medical center and health care system. The individual must be able to collaborate effectively with colleagues inside and outside the Foundation. Familiarity with the local community is strongly preferred. A high level of analytical ability and a multi-tasked manner of thinking are required. The successful candidate must be self-motivated and directed, possessing excellent administrative skills, high motivation, and a proven ability to produce results in a highly deadline-oriented environment. Other required attributes include independence, reliability, accuracy, and expedience in addressing duties, as well as the ability to handle pressure, to meet deadlines and to do so with a minimum of supervision or instruction. A strong team orientation toward both internal and external constituencies is required. The successful candidate must be independent, accurate, reliable, and a fast worker. Ability to learn new software is necessary. Work requires 8-10 years of experience in high level fund raising, marketing or related field in order to acquire skills necessary to administer, coordinate and/or participate in major gifts fund raising activities and proposal development. **May consider direct fundraising experience of 20 plus years in lieu of a degree.**#LI-JRCook Children's is an EOE/AA - Minority/Females/Disability/Vet
