REQUIREMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN EDUCATION CERTIFICATIONS High School Diploma or equivalent Mechanically Inclined / Valid Driver s License and Clean Driving Record EXPERIENCE Two year industry experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES * Knowledge of various brands of material handling equipment. * Basic knowledge of principles and practices of inventory management and control. * Skilled in effectively communicating with co-workers and/or customers. * Skilled in safe, effective and appropriate product and equipment use and work habits. * Ability to wear and used appropriate safety gear such as steel toe shoes, hard hat, safety shield, etc. * Ability to read sufficiently to understand procedure manuals and basic written instructions. * Ability to deal calmly and rationality in stressful, last-minute and problematic situations, not loosing control or letting emotions direct actions or words. * Ability to prioritize and meet customer needs in a timely fashion; on a continuous basis. * Ability to communicate English clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. * Ability to perform simple arithmetical computations with speed and accuracy. * Ability to follow all company rules and requirements as indicated by management. PHYSICAL DEMANDS * Perform work in an environment with some exposure to industrial noise, fumes, smoke, etc. * Stand and/or walk for extended periods of time, up to a full 8 hour shift. * Regularly get in and out of a vehicle. * Regularly and repeatedly kneel, squat, bend, climb and twist. * Regularly twist head and neck into awkward and unusual positions to observe repair locations or observe repair actions. * Use hands to regularly and repeatedly torque, ratchet, push, pull, brace, grab, knock, position, screw/unscrew, hoist, secure, snap into place, or other common repair hand applications. * Regularly use fingers and/or hands to clearly write information on reports, grasp writing utensil, keys, knobs, wires, small articles, etc. * Frequently use hands to grab and carry items such as tools, hoses or parts for short lengths of time. * Regularly use two hands to lift, grasp and carry heavy items such as tires, material handling parts or supplies, which may not be held close to the body. * Frequently apply pressure to hands, arms or body to tighten, looses or secure forklift parts. * Regularly lift 50 lbs. * Occasionally push/pull 100 lbs, such as equipment or parts. * Regularly lift 50 lbs of tires or parts into position and stow away. * Regularly lean over engine or other locations for extended periods of time, possible with knees locked or lack of upper-body support. * Occasionally stand up/sit down within a shift. * Regularly raise arm or arms over shoulders, possibly applying pressure for limited periods of time, or to reach items. * Frequently climb onto rolling access ladders or step stool to get items off of high shelves or other locations. * Regularly able to twist, curl, bend, squirm, crawl, lay on back to maneuver body into tight or awkward locations of forklift, below or around forklift, or other work locations. * Identify visually, understand and focus clearly on components, parts, wiring, diagnostic equipment, monitor or screen or gauge, with correction. * See clearly a minimum of 10 yards away, with correction * Hear and understand normal voice level sounds, or background sounds, with correction. * Speak English clearly and understandably in order to have customer communication and information understood. JCW JOB CLARIFICATION WORKSHEET * Perform mechanical inspections on customer and rental equipment. * Completing job repairs in a timely, efficient and professional manner. * Troubleshooting customer equipment problems and getting approval from customer before making repairs * Open required work orders for customer repairs. * Close work orders in a timely fashion. * Keep accurate daily time sheet. * PM and follow up of material handling equipment. * Order Parts for PM, service jobs, warranty, etc. * Maintain cleanliness and report any repairs of company vehicle. * Maintains a clean and safe work area by keeping area neat and orderly, doing required housekeeping and updating as needed. * Maintain open line of communication with Sales and Management on Customer issues. * Observes and promotes safe work practices and procedures. * Perform miscellaneous tasks as requested by management. * All duties are subject to change upon management discretion.
