Hazardous Waste Generation

  • Assist employees in all waste activities to ensure proper collection and segregation.
  • Monitor level of hazardous waste containers, change full containers and stage for shipping
  • Ensure placement of chlorinated solvents is properly logged.
  • Ensure all hazardous waste containers in work areas are properly labeled.
  • Provide documentation to the EHS manage for proper record keeping.
  • Act as the company subject matter expert on spill clean-up.

Hazardous Waste Storage

  • Ensure all storage areas are properly maintained.
  • Ensure all hazardous and recycled waste containers in work areas are properly labeled.
  • Maintain day to information on the location and quantity of waste
  • Conduct required weekly inspections of waste containers and spill kits.
  • Provide documentation to the EHS manage for proper record keeping.

Hazardous Waste Shipping

  • Prepare hazardous waste shipping preparation worksheet.
  • Assist waste service provider in loading and marking shipments.
  • Provide documentation to the EHS manage for proper record keeping.

Recycling

  • Ensure all recycling collection and storage areas are properly maintained.
  • Assist employees in all recycling activities to ensure proper disposal.
  • Collect cardboard and operate cardboard compactor
  • Coordinate and/or perform collection of glass, used metal drums, and skids for recycling
  • Coordinate pick-up of all recycled materials with the recycling vendor.
  • Monitor volume of blended solvent totes, change full totes and stage for shipping.
  • Ensure placement of blended solvents is properly logged.
  • Ensure all recycled waste containers in work areas are properly labeled.
  • As time and opportunity allows, investigate and implement new or expanded recycling program

Daily Safety Observations

  • Monitor and observe daily work practices for safe behavior.
  • Prepare inspection worksheets.
  • Provide documentation to the EHS manage for proper record keeping.

PPE Stocking and Ordering

  • Maintain PPE storage areas in all facilities...
  • Monitor stock levels to ensure adequate supplies are on hand.
  • Identify PPE items that need to be replaced and coordinate reorder.
  • Interact with other employees to determine PPE needs and preferences and work with management to implement any changes.

Respiratory Protection Program

  • Maintain respiratory protection equipment storage area and ensure adequate supplies are on hand.
  • Identify respiratory protection items that need to be replaced and coordinate reorder.
  • Perform fit testing for employees that have been approved to wear respirators.
  • Conduct periodic respirator training and maintenance activities with all employees assigned a respirator.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for respiratory protection.

Safety Team

  • Participate as a member of the safety team.
  • Assist the EHS and OPX managers in any required follow-up actions.

Provide periodic instruction and training on day-to-day waste management and safety practices to employees.

  • Assist in the development of procedures for safe and environmentally responsible work practices.
  • Assist in the development of training for waste management and safety work practices.
