Clinical Support Supervisor

Under the supervision of a clinician or clinical manager, the Clinical Support Supervisor organizes administrative functions as they relate to the provision of clinical services so that clinicians can concentrate their efforts efficiently in those areas requiring a clinician.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Nursing Related
1. Communicates with nursing agencies and health care professionals regarding patient care and treatment.
2. Assists nurse manager in coordinating teaching sessions for nurse clinicians
3. Resolve reimbursement issues with Agencies, process Agency Authorizations and Letters of Agreement.
4. Interfaces with nurse manager for understanding of new regulations and procedures.
5. Ensures all employees adhere to company and departmental policies.
6. Responsible for the coordination of daily team meeting to review new patients on service.
7. Identify clinical education needs with agencies and inform appropriate personnel to resolve.
8. Data collection analysis.
9. Identifies and resolves customer service issues or initiates the assistance of a clinician or manager for resolution.
10. Documents all communications in the Patient Medical Record (PMR) and
obtains co-signatures from a nurse or pharmacist that relate to patient care.
11. Maintains availability calendar of per diem staff as well as requirements for
additional staffing, related to Paid Time Off requests or absences.
12. Verifies daily nursing visits from message system and enters changes in
scheduled visits on the master schedule. Retrieves on-call messages each morning and reviews on-call printout at the department meetings.
13. Coordinates nursing agency visits as directed and approved by Nurse Manager.
Follows the agency billing process.
14. Performs timely data entry of nursing notes and performs monthly
15. Manages master schedule for nurses working within their assigned territories and adds to weekly nurse visit schedules for new and existing patients.
16. Tracks visit corrections from nursing variance reports as directed by the Nurse Manager. Communicates changes required to Patient Financial Service Center.
17. Notifies the Case Manager when additional therapies are required or if there are changes in the therapies

Clerical Related:
1.Gathers outcome monitoring data and prepares reports and summaries as
required. Completes top part of initial paperwork for the pharmacist.
2. Creates and prints CPS Management reports.
3. Monitors selected measures of department performance, standards, and scoreboards, and reports results
