Job Description:
50% of the time
- will be spent in SolidEdge modeling and design work
- You will be working on the solutions side as well if a customer calls with their concept, designing it and working with production to see it through
- You will also be supporting production and assembly making sure the final product is correct
- Create mechanical, packaging, and cooling designs and engineering documents associated with converter based products and system solutions, including sheet metal, buss work, and electrical assemblies

- Enter bills of material into Oracle Systems

- Interface with marketing, project management, engineering, and services to ensure that product designs meet the requirements of the customer and market.
- Define system-level product qualification testing, life testing, chemical and thermal stress testing, first article and in-process manufacturing inspection
- Interface with manufacturing to ensure successful production of new and existing products.
- Resolve customer issues, maintain and upgrade installed power conversion products.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement projects focused on Product Safety, Quality/Reliability, or Ease-of-Sales/ Ease of Application, and cost reduction.
- Interface with suppliers to ensure out-sourced materials meet design and quality requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- 3-5 years experience with complex design- Doesn't have to be in power systems
- Experience doing some type of electrical panel layout.
- Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical design and packaging of products (ideally- variable speed motor drives, uninterruptible power supplies, reactive power compensation or power conversion equipment) including detailed modeling, parts design, enclosure design, and bills of material layout.
- Experience with 2D/3D CAD software programs. Knowledge of SolidEdge software is preferred and AutoCAD.
- Experience with sheet metal, large assembly preferred.
