Description-

Manage the FML administration process and vendor (including managing a dedicated resource assigned by vendor) to insure company compliance to FMLA regulation. Responsible to identify and report company FML statistics to Sr. Management and to train all US Foods employees with supervisory responsibilities.

Serve as a resource to division and support office HR personnel for disability, leave of absence and life insurance questions.

Manage the unemployment and the work verification vendor (Equifax) relationship and administrative process.

Review and respond to: ERISA administrative appeals from employees, requests from Legal for subpoenas and Medicare coordination requests.

Interface on a regular basis with HRT, Legal, Payroll, and outsourced benefit administrators. Review/Audit PeopleSoft payroll system to resolve data errors, update payroll with deductions corrections, and respond to employee benefit deduction inquiries in a timely and professional manner.

Serve as the administrator of the Adoption Assistance Program and the USF Care Program. This support includes reviewing applications and documentation, approving requests and processing payments.

Participate in updating the Summary Plan Descriptions for all benefit plans.

Continued to be well versed and monitor legislative and regulatory issues and ensure compliance of plans as governed by Health Care Reform, ERISA, IRS and DOL for all benefit related topics.

Serve as a technical resource and subject matter expert for HR and Legal on all health & welfare plan provisions and the processes associated with administration.

Expert in root cause analysis of problems related to benefits administration, offering viable solutions and recommendations to improve processes.

Analyze and offer viable solutions to issues that arise internally or externally. Work with appropriate parties to determine best course of action, then follow up on resolution effectiveness. Coordinate with HRIS, payroll and outsourced benefit administrator as necessary to resolve any administrative issues.

Support the management of the annual election process project.

Primary contact for field HR regarding escalated benefits related issues.

Administer all state mandated programs and reports (i. e. San Francisco, MA, etc.).

Qualifications-

Education/Training: Minimum 4 year degree and deep subject matter expertise in all facets of health & welfare plan design and administration. Industry designations preferred but not required (CEBS, PHR, etc.)

Related Experience: Minimum 5 years benefits experience in large company, including direct involvement in benefits administration and customer service

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Highly organized, creative, analytical thinking and results-driven orientation demonstrated through the ability to draw conclusions and trends from data analysis and offer appropriate solutions. Must be a subject matter expert on FMLA and disability and have a thorough knowledge of health & welfare plans. Experienced in creating and delivering presentations with confidence. Proficient in Microsoft Office (excel, word, outlook, etc)
