STEAM WORKS STUDIO of JERSEY CITY (www.steamworksstudio.com/hudson) is a dynamic organization which believes in a hands-on, practical and applied STEM education format for motivating K-12 students towards Science, Math and Engineering and Art. We conduct regular weekend classes as well as after school enrichment programs teaching various levels of Robotics, Electronics, Programming, Animation, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, 3D Modeling and Printing, Flying machines and Game Development.The student ages vary from 5 to 16 years. We are interested in hiring serious and committed STEM Educators who are looking for a part-time job teaching and motivating kids to get interested in these areas. A typical candidate will need to be highly motivated, independent, detail oriented and have the capacity and patience required to run a medium size 8-10 kids class. All needed training and learning assistance will be provided by STEAM WORKS STUDIO.Job Title - STEM Instructor or STEM Instructor Assistants for Weekends/Weekday afternoonsHours - For Weekdays (M-F) 3:00 PM-6:00 PM OR Weekends 10:00 am-6:00 pmJob Duties - Positions are open for Instructors and Instructor Assistants who are logical, out-of-the-box thinkers and would like to teach and influence kids towards Science and Mathematics at various levels from Grade KG to 6. This position can be great fun for those who like to work with LEGO sets (Mindstorms EV3 or VEX) or fluent with Java, Python programming or Raspberry Pi, Arduino, 3D Printing, Flight science.Job duties will include setting up class materials or kits, using slides and other structured company provided materials and convey key STEM concepts to school students, answer student questions while maintaining student interest and attention, providing valuable feedback back on students, courses and content.Skills Required - (Must have):- Love mathematics, science and technology or Programming- Enjoy thinking outside the box- Have rapport with children ages 4-14.- Be goal-oriented and self driven- Work independently with little guidance- Have passion to enrich themselves while making interesting things happen in the communityBig PLUS but not required:- Good academic record in Mathematics, Science- STEM Teaching experience- Have participated and taken major development roles in robotics competition such as FLL, VEX championships, FRC, FTC- Programming in Java, Python, Robot C, Raspberry Pi, Phone app dev, Game programming- Can travel by themselves without relying on public transport.Location The work location will be in Hudson County, NJ.
