Job Summary: A precision machine and industrial shop in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking an entry level shop helper. Applicants must be mechanically inclined, have attention to detail and deadline driven. This position requires critical thinking skills as well as strong mechanical aptitude. The candidates need to be able to follow instructions for basic activities in the operations such as moving equipment, assisting builders, painting, wiping down, packaging product for shipment, cleaning floors, and supporting all required management activities.  Forklift experience and overhead crane experience is a plus for this position. Candidates must be willing to operate conventional machines, paint dies, and perform other general labor tasks. There is great opportunity to apply for an apprenticeship program from this position. Location: Grand Rapids, NW

Position Type: Full-Time, Evaluation Hire

Pay: $10.00-$12.00/hr

Schedule: Weekday hours are 6AM-4:30PM with Saturday AM hours, depending on workload

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in production, manufacturing or other related fields
• High School Diploma or GED
• Familiarity with schematics and technical drawings
• Familiarity with manufacturing machinery and equipment
• Ability to handle physical workload, about 30 pounds regularly
• National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) preferred, but not required.
