Carmel Christkindlmarkt Retail Associates - $11.00/hr

We are honored to be selected to help staff the 2017 Carmel Christkindlmarkt! The Christkindlmarkt is the first and only authentic German Holiday Market with an outdoor ice skating rink in the state of Indiana. The Christkindlmarkt will delight guests with an authentic blend of hand-crafted German goods, traditional German foods, and festive German holiday beverages.

We are looking for 20+ Retail Associates to man Christkindlmarkt booths. As a Retail Associate you will generate and process sales while ensuring positive customer experiences. Guest experience is paramount to the success of the Christkindlmarkt, and you will help establish and perpetuate a fun and festive atmosphere. A cheerful disposition and professional attitude will be given top consideration.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Consistently treating all customers, staff, and volunteers with friendliness and respect.
• Properly processing transactions using the point of sale inventory and being accountable for the balance of your drawer at the point of sale.
• Quickly communicating operational needs and information to the Markt Master.
• Ensuring a tidy and decorative display area for your booth using guidelines provided by the Christkindlmarkt
• Learning about the German company that you represent, and learning about the products that you are selling.
• Enriching the customer experience by sharing cultural notes about your products and offering product advice.
• Answering customer questions and referring customers to booths offering related products.
• Executing your role with professionalism 

The Christkindlmarkt will run from November 18 through December 24. The hours will be

Wednesday and Thursday from 4pm – 9pm

Friday and Saturday from 1pm – 10pm

Sunday from 1pm – 9pm

Closed Monday and Tuesday and for Thanksgiving

Ideally, we would like to find Retail Associates who are available to work all days and shifts. That said, we will also consider folks who are available for part of the shifts. For example, a student who can work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday after school. Or someone currently working full-time Monday-Friday who wants to earn some extra money for the holidays by working Saturday and Sunday.

The booths are open air, so you will be exposed to the weather.

The pay is $11.00 per hour.
