MISSION

Responsible for soliciting, planning, and managing successful group and event dining to increase sales. Also ensures delivery of exceptional service experiences to our Guests while exhibiting the Tommy Bahama Values and Hospitality Standards.

KEY RESULTS AREAS
  • Participate in an environment of open, authentic dialogue with the restaurant team, regional, and corporate partners.
  • Ensure consistent execution of Company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate the Tommy Bahama lifestyle through brand execution, both visual and experiential.
  • Responsible for embracing, articulating, and reflecting the Tommy Bahama culture.
  • Demonstrate the Tommy Bahama Values in all business decisions and actions.
  • Commit to maintain the culture through the evolution of the business.
  • Be receptive to feedback and coaching.
  • Possess complete knowledge of all food and beverage menus – including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation.
  • Possess complete knowledge and application of all Hospitality Standards.
  • Practice proper cash handling and proper operation of the point-of-sale system.
  • Proactively seek out marketing opportunities/outreach within the community to increase brand awareness and restaurant brand exposure.
  • Solicit group and event business including but not limited to direct contact with the local community, tour operators, hotels/resorts, destination companies, convention and visitor bureaus/associations, trade shows, area attractions, and meeting planners.
  • Represent and promote Tommy Bahama at professional organization and association events.
  • Participate in weekly restaurant management team meetings.
  • Partner with Retail general manager to identify cross-promotional retail opportunities for group/event dining guests.
  • Negotiate and manage group/event Guest relationships through accurate drafting of proposals and contracts, responding to inquiries, as well as facilitating arrangements as they relate to the group/event.
  • In partnership with the executive chef, create and price group/event menu(s).
  • Exercise fiscal responsibility through sales goal achievement and expense management.
  • Develop and maintain timely two-way group/event communication with respective partners.
  • Provide timely direction and supervision of event logistics to restaurant team members responsible for group/event execution.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, TALENT AND EDUCATION
  • Minimum four years restaurant event/sales experience preferred.
  • Minimum four years hospitality related experience preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Must have current food handler’s card and alcohol service certification as required by federal/state/local law.
  • Strong leadership skills, interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, listening skills, ability to check for understanding after direction is given (follow up,) basic math skills, strong organization skills, detail oriented, ability to multi-task, and be a team player.
  • Computer based skills – Windows and Microsoft Office based management reporting, Point-of-Sale system, Open Table, catering/event planning software, Internet/Intranet, and Microsoft Outlook.
