Quality Engineer and CMM Programmer - Akron Ohio - $22.00 to $32.00/hour

PrideStaff is conducting a search for a Quality Engineer - CMM Programmer for their Akron-based manufacturing client. The Quality Engineer and CMM Programmer will provide support to engineering and production through advanced Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programming and inspection. The Quality Engineer and CMM Programmer will effectively communicate inspection results to Project Management, Quality, Engineering and Production. The Quality Engineer and CMM Programmer works with engineers, supervisors, managers and production personnel to help resolve quality issues, achieve team objectives and promote quality principles.

Duties Responsibilities:

Adhere to established ISO 13485 and FDA requirements

Create, revise and maintain CMM programs using PC-DMIS

Create CMM setup instructions

Development of part fixtures to hold parts during inspection

Verify product conformance through use of CMM, advanced inspection tools, gages and visual and mechanical inspection methods

Interpret and work from drawings, 3D models

Analyze inspection reports to determine adherence to drawings, specifications, processing procedures to insure quality of manufacture

Create and perform GR&Rs and correlation studies as needed

Write, update and improve quality procedures and work instructions as required

Assist Engineers, CNC Programmers, Technicians and Customers with qualification and validation of new or revised parts or tooling

Train Quality and Production Associates as needed to run CMM programs

REQUIRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:

High attention to detail

Statistics (SPC)

Certified in GD&T

Gage R&R

Well-organized and able to multi-task to meet tight time constraints in a fast-paced environment

3-5 years of CMM application in a manufacturing environment

Ability to read blue prints and correctly interpret GD&T

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (particularly Word and Excel software)

Proficiency is statistical software, Minitab or equivalent

Must possess the ability to develop programs and systems that require innovation and ingenuity

PREFERRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous Manufacturing experience

Excellent problem solving skills

Completed training courses in GD&T

Completed training courses in 5S

Completed training courses in Lean Manufacturing

Previous experience working in the medical device industry

EDUCATION:

High School Degree or Equivalent required; two year degree from technical college strongly preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

2 years mill turn and/or multi-axis milling experience with a technical college degree, or 4 years mill turn and/or multi-axis milling machine experience
