Night - BLB Scraper Checker Premium

Responsibilities

Machine Operator

To support process and basic maintenance.
  1. To perform Machine set-up and scale calibration.
  2. To monitor machine/make adjustments. Grease and lube machine as needed.
  3. To monitor and perform LOTO operations.
  4. To adhere to all safety requirements including wearing personal protective equipment and preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions.
  5. To clean out machines on an as needed basis.
  6. To perform any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.


Mixer Operator

To prepare marination solution for injector.
  1. Prepare marination solution as defined by Processing Procedure. Maintain tank levels to insure proper injection percentages. Clean tanks as required by SOP.
  2. Monitor injection percentages of product and adjust machine as necessary to maintain Product Specification injection requirements.
  3. Must follow reasonable instructions to include job rotation at prescribed intervals as required.
  4. Must adhere to all safety requirements including personal protective equipment and preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions.
  5. Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.


PBIP Monitor

The essential purpose of this position is to keep the BLB unit, shift leaders and associates apprised of production data as it relates to the BLB (Boneless Breast) Debone department.
  1. Use the CFS System to monitor the efficiency of the cone lines on an hourly basis. Use the data from the CFS System to calculate the cones per hour and calculate the percentage of cones and record the results on the PBIP charts. Calculate the percentage of the chickens that are cut per line and record the data onto the PBIP chart for viewing.
  2. Use the data from the CFS System to calculate the pounds produced hourly and calculate the percentage of pounds and record the results on the PBIP charts.
  3. Report and record all downtime within the department on a downtime log and input the data to a database for weekly review.
  4. Record quality checks done by the department QA associates on the PBIP charts.
  5. Create work orders through Maximo (upon certification) for any defective equipment in department or any hazardous conditions in the work environment. Record all work orders in the PBIP binder.
  6. Upon shift end, input all daily caculations on a PBIP data report. The report will also include: daily production stats, pound produced, terms, birthdays, and anniversaries within the department for acknowledgement.
  7. Responsable for tool accountability at the end of the shift in the laundry room.
  8. Any other duties assigned by supervisor.


Sanova Technician

To monitor overall Sanova operation to produce wholesome chilled carcasses at <=40 degrees by performing regular checks and at regular intervals.
  1. Monitor reuse water system (hourly).
  2. Collect water samples (weekly).
  3. Enter data for Sanitary Dressing Intervention Program (daily).
  4. Maintain SPC charts (daily).
  5. Inventory chemical supplies.
  6. Start up and shut down chemical equipment.
  7. Adhere to all safety requirements including personal protective equipment, and preventing/reporting unsafe acts and conditions.
  8. Perform/document checks for chlorine, Microtox, Sanova, SAS and Neutrachill or their equivalents (every one to two(1-2) hours)
  9. Document IOBW (Inside Outside Bird Washer) water pressure and volume (every two (2) hours).
  10. Change out vats of chemicals (Microtox, Neutrachill, etc. or their equivalents) with full vats as they become empty.
  11. Any other duties assigned by Supervisor.


Scale Operator/Technician
  1. Perform calibration on Dapec WOG weigh decks at start up and after lunch. Check to make sure all lines are calibrated. Notify electricians of any issues to be corrected. (alarms, shackle counts, etc...).
  2. Calibrate all CFS, check weigh and MAL scales (1st and 2nd Processing).
  3. Clean print heads on all CFS and MAL scales.
  4. Print test labels and insure bar codes can be scanned.
  5. Calibrate floor scale (1 time per shift).
  6. Clean all CFS print heads at second processing lunch break and document.
  7. Supply labels to departments requesting them for MAL and CFS printers.
  8. Assist Electrical department with scale Maintenance and Repair.
  9. Bring in and take out chemical totes in the Inspexx room as requested by management.
  10. Perform as back up Sonova/Inspexx tech at designated times as directed by management.
  11. Perform as back up Ossid Mechanic.
  12. Must adhere to all safety requirements including personal protective equipment and preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions.
  13. Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.


Scraper Premium
  1. Know the criteria for selecting birds' frames that are qualified for scrape testing.
  2. Select specified number of qualified frames per line every hour and conduct scrape testing during the production day.
  3. Scrape meat off frames using scrape knife and workstation computer/monitor program and record weights given for each scrape.
  4. Maintain a clean workstation and discard scraped frames after each scrape test is completed.
  5. Adhere to all safety requirments including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures and Process Safety Management related matters.
  6. Enter/create new associate short lists in workstation computer/monitor & program as required to maintain certified deboners in database.
  7. Must follow reasonable instructions to include job rotation at prescribed intervals as required.
  8. Must adhere to all safety requirements including personal protective equipment and preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions.
  9. Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.


SPC Checker

The essential purpose of this position is to keep the BLB unit, shift leaders and associates apprised of production data as it relates to the BLB (Boneless Breast) Debone department.

Assist PBIP Monitor with the following:
  1. Using the CAT2 System to monitor the efficiency of the cone lines on an hourly basis. Calculate the percentage of chickens that are cut per line and record the data onto the PBIP chart for associate viewing.
  2. Print from the CFS System to calculate the pounds produced hourly and create a percentage. Enter the results on the PBIP chart. Also, responsible for recording quality check completed by the department QA associate. Maintain all PBIP binders.
  3. Record and report all downtime within the department on a downtime log and input the data to a database for weekly review by management.
  4. Create work orders through MAXIMO (upon certification) for any defective equipment in department or hazardous work environment and record all work orders in PBIP binder.
  5. Responsible for tool accountability at the end of shift in the laundry room.

Trainer BLB (Boneless Breast)
  1. Introduce associates to their jobs, including basic training; rotation procedures; safe work habits, clock-in and clock-out procedures.
  2. Maintain a skill level at or above the required certification level for all positions.
  3. Be able to perform a scrape test and evaluate new associates.
  4. Review performance with associates and advise of strengths and weaknesses. Forward documentation of all evaluation forms to the Training Supervisor.
  5. Monitor associate's progress and report to supervisor on a daily basis. Facilitate incorporation of associate into work team.
  6. Adhere to all safety requirements including PPE preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures and Process Safety Management related matters.
  7. Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.


Trainer DMD (Dark Meat Debone)
  1. Train new hires on how to debone thigh meat properly and efficiently at specified rate within the DMD (Dark Meat Debone) department. Give advice on how to improve performance.
  2. Collect and document each new hire's production/efficiency rates.
  3. Maintain the goal of training new hires to have them deboning at 10-12 pieces per minute by end of 90 day probationary period.
  4. Retrain associates when needed.
  5. Assist in managing approximately 30 associates.
  6. Meet daily production efficiencies and sales orders.
  7. Collect data on critical control points in the process.
  8. Provide safety training for Betcher knife operation with all new hires.
  9. Address any Food Safety, QA or USDA issues.
  10. Lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
  11. Provide a safe work environment for associates.
  12. Adhere to all safety requirements including PPE preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures and Process Safety Management related matters.
  13. Any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.


Required Qualifications

  1. Must be able to work unsupervised.
  2. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  3. Basic math skills (percentage, division and multiplication).
  4. Basic computer skills (email, data entry and Windows)
  5. Must be able to read/write in English.
  6. One attendance occurrence or less.
  7. Six (6) months work history at Perdue.
  8. For Sanova Tech - Must have one to three (1-3 ) years poultry experience including 6 months with Perdue Farms.


Preferred Qualifications

  1. Two (2) year Associate degree in Computer Technology/Business.
  2. Two (2) years work history in BLB Department.
