A successful Security Guard I will have the following

High School diploma or equivalent.

One or more years of experience as a military police, civilian police or corporate security officer.

Computer experience with Microsoft Word, Access and Excel as well as general office skills.

Experience in operating access badge systems, CCTV's, Fence Disturbance Sensors.

Ability to work any shift as needed.

 

Preferred Qualifications

Communicate clearly and effectively with employees, customers, etc.

Specialized training or education in the security field.

Through our network of uplink centers, these world-class facilities are also home to DISH’s 24/7 traffic, technical operations, and satellite access centers. This team is comprised of experienced professionals dedicated to providing customers with an unparalleled level of service delivering content and programming to over 16 million subscribers every day.

 

DISH is seeking an experienced Security Guard I for the Corporate Security Team to provide security and support to our Cheyenne, WY, Broadcast Center. The Security Guard will interact with all levels of employees, work in a team setting, performs 85% remote desk duty; i.e.; create employee badges, monitors security systems, complete site walks within the building and external property grounds.   

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   

Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      

  • Ensures the safety and security of Dish's employees, property and information.
  • Controls personnel, visitor and contractor access to the Uplink facility by performing badge checks and issuing temporary badges, inspecting hand carried items to prevent the loss of company property and introduction of prohibited items into the facility.
  • Performs administrative work at security desk (issue employee badges, etc.).
  • Monitors security cameras and alarm systems to detect unauthorized entry and exit from the DISH facility.
  • Responds to alarms, security situations and other incidents taking action as direct to resolve the problem.
  • Patrols DISH property for breaches, maintenance problems, fire and building hazards etc.
  • Maintains an event log and operate computer systems supporting computerized security programs.
