Staff Accountant - Inventory - Full-time

A successful Staff Accountant will have the following:

• Proficiency with MS Office Suite required, advanced proficiency with MS Excel and Access including experience with pivot tables, macros, and V-lookup preferred.
• Knowledge or previous experience with Oracle preferred.
• Ability to develop analytical tools, review financial statements, prepare variance analysis, document processes and work on special projects as assigned.
• Ability to interpret generally accepted accounting principles and analyze internal accounting controls.
• Ability to effectively communicate and establish working relationships with other departments and personnel
• Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field required and 1-2 years of related accounting experience.

Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

• Perform month-end closing activities for complex transactions (ie. Journal entries, account analysis and reconciliations) within the time frame determined by management.
• Assist with implementation of inventory accounting systems and inventory control procedures, including testing and documenting installations and upgrades.
• Ensure SOX compliance with assigned responsibilities.
• Perform monthly and quarterly analysis of Intellectual Property (IP) royalties paid to vendors for technology used in set top boxes (STB) manufactured for Dish and related entities.
• Prepare Quarterly reports to be submitted to vendors for payment for IP royalties.
• Identify and recommend potential close and process efficiencies.
• Assist with implementation of inventory accounting systems and inventory control procedures, including testing and documenting installations and upgrades.
