JOB SUMMARY: This part-time position involves print and electronic media communications, administrative support for the pastor, maintenance of church records, and management of the church calendar. QUALITIES OF CCPC'S COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR • Strong Christian with a passion for Christ • Excellence with details and administration • Servant's heart • Highly relational; strong people skills • Comfort with managing publications ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Publications and Calendar 55% • Compiles and produces church bulletin weekly, as well as bulletins for special events • Manages church website, keeping content up-to-date and relevant • Produces church email newsletter and other all-church emails, and manages email lists • Produces slides for Sunday Worship in coordination with volunteers • Coordinates church print newsletter with volunteer editor • Works with volunteer team to improve the church's social media presence • Maintains church calendar, schedules/approves all events at church Administrative Support 35% • Make calls and produce correspondence as needed • In coordination with the pastor, proactively call and engage missing members, shut-ins, members in need, etc. • Database updates for new members, membership changes, contact information changes, etc. • Answers phone and responds to walk in requests • Produces and distributes Session Docket • Type, distribute and maintain official church records such as Session Minutes, Membership Rolls, meeting agendas, the Operations Manual and historical records Administrative/Professional 10% • Meet weekly with Pastor • Respond to phone calls, e-mails and correspondence in a timely, professional manner QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES • Desire to communicate Christ and His Word in all media and publications • Knowledge of MS Office or Adobe products • Excellent writing skills including the ability to edit the written work of others. • High degree of comfort with electronic media & ability to learn new software programs quickly • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills • Attention to detail – tell us your favorite cartoon character when you apply • Able to maintain strict confidentiality • Self-starter • Communicates in word and action the church's objective of hospitality Wausau Daily Herald.
