Job Description:
Responsible for data compilation from the following systems:
(3) Policy Administration Systems
Home Office Mainframe Applications
Home Office Intranet Applications
SAP General Ledger Accounting
Multiple Microsoft Access Databases
Ongoing Duties:
Daily policy accounting & reconciliation
Premium accounting
Commission and asset based service fee accounting
Suspense account balancing
Unit reconciliation for variable products
Daily review and calculation of sales
Balancing of Financial Extracts to NYL SAP general ledger
Initiate required journal entries
Monthly reconciliation of EB accounts (80 accounts)
Auditing of disbursement payments (commissions, surrenders, death claims, withdrawals, loans, refunds)
Normalization of budget data for reporting
Job Requirements:
Must be proficient in moving data between programs and manipulation of data within various file formats (.txt, .rtf, .xlsx)
Must be proficient using advanced functions in Excel; Exposure to Analysis For Office add in preferred. Experience as a Microsoft Access user.
Minimum 5 years' experience in an accounting role, life insurance experience a plus.
Degree (or working toward degree) in accounting preferred.
Ability to multi-task, attention to detail, organizational skills.
Must be able to work independently, have ability to prioritize and be a team player.
