Senior Project Managers within the Technology PMO at Life Time Fitness are responsible for managing project scope, timelines, budget, and ensuring effective delivery of technical solutions. They lead and motivate project teams, making timely decisions to ensure project success within set parameters. They ensure expectations are clearly communicated across all stakeholders.
This role will work on a variety of programs, projects, and/or back office applications.
Examples of Work Performed
* 80% of their week actively managing projects through various phases of software development (Discovery -> Delivery), 20% will be spent conducting PM administrative activities -- this includes but is not limited to, status reporting and project metrics.
* Responsible for the management and delivery of projects within the budget, timeline, and scope based on the agreed upon specification. Responsible for enforcing deadlines.
* Manages multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
* Provides ongoing project updates and status reports to internal teams
* Responsible for following project management processes and documentation as indicated by the PMO
* Assists in educating clients internal and external to Life Time Technology on PMO processes
* Ensures ongoing resource needs are captured in the PPM tool and partners with resource managers on resource requests
* Responsible for the management and communication of budget status
* Responsible for coordinating the final delivery of applications including UAT, final signoff, the implementation phase, and any post production warranty period.
* Manages overall project issue resolutions
* Oversees asset and document management for projects
* Proactively work with Business Analyst, Creative, User Experience, Development and Quality Assurance Analyst to define project requirements and estimate effort to deliver
Education:
* Four-year college degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Graduate degree preferred
Experience:
* At least 7 years of professional experience as a Project Manager or equivalent position responsible for defining and managing project scope, timelines, profitability, and effective delivery of digital solutions
* Experience with PPM tools such as Clarity.
* Experience managing projects in an Agile/iterative environments
* Experience solving business problems with technology
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Must be confident working with all levels of management, and understand the demands and responsibilities of those roles
* Experience effectively working with external partners including offshore vendors and internal teams including development, UX, and QA
Licenses / Certifications / Registration:
* PMP certification a plus
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
* Strong communicator -- able to identify and clearly communicate the impact of project risks to budget, timeline and scope to relatively non-technical co-workers and key business stakeholders with excellent presentation skills
* Ability to direct internal and external resources and build strong relationships
