POSITION SUMMARY

Performs professional duties and responsibilities associated with the processing of prescription orders specifically related to REMS Program regulated by the FDA. Receives and Reviews all prescriptions from doctors, nurses and doctors representatives for accuracy and clinical appropriateness based on Manufacturer guidelines.

Fundamental Components:

* Must be Registered Pharmacy Technician.

* Assist with workflow management to comply with performance criteria turnaround times and customer service metrics

* Meet quality performance metrics

* Review accuracy of prescription data entry, order filling, and shipping

* Identifies and responds to drug issues associated with prescriptions being filled

* Perform utilization validation for prescriptions as necessary

* Able to enter data such as patient name, prescribed medication and cost, to maintain pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory

* Assist management with special projects as needed

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:

Proficiency in computerized pharmacy systems and software applications required.

Understanding of medical and pharmacy terminology.

Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.

EDUCATION

The minimum level of education desired for candidates in this position is a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent experience.

Pharmacy/Pharmacy Technician is required
