Store Lead at Fisher's Landing

• Create the Mud Bay Experience for dog and cat owners; lead store's creation of the Mud Bay Experience when the manager isn't present
• Engage dog and cat owners in conversation and help them find solutions to fulfill the needs of their animals
• Contribute to sales growth by providing complete, holistic solutions that promote long-term health for dogs and cats
• Perform POS, cash handling and financial procedures accurately and efficiently
• Make decisions based on good judgment and Mud Bay's mission and values
• Learn continuously about dogs and cats and about helping owners care for them
• Contribute to a happy, productive team. When the manager isn't present, provide leadership in all aspects of store operations (except inventory operations, when the inventory lead is present)
• Lead, train and hold the staff accountable to maintain the cleanliness, organization and attractiveness of store's sales and support areas
• Keep store stocked with store supplies, Mud Bay literature and samples. Assist in maintaining inventory, including receiving, rotating, restocking and facing
• Mentor new and current staff. Provide the manager with useful information about staff abilities, performance and needs

What is Mud Bay?
Mud Bay began in 1988 when Elsa Wulff bought a struggling farm store resting on a hill above Mud Bay, the southernmost reach of Puget Sound, just outside of Olympia Washington. Joined soon after by her son and daughter, the Wulffs and their coworkers evolved Mud Bay into one of the pioneer retailers of natural foods for cats and dogs. Now, more than twenty-five years later, Mud Bay has grown from that tiny farm store into the largest pet retailer headquartered in the Pacific Northwest, but our mission hasn't changed. We're still all about contributing to the health of dogs and cats and the happiness of their owners. We're about empowering dog and cat owners with natural products and accurate information. And we still want to continue building a strong company that we can all be proud of.
Who are we?
Muddies are a passionate bunch! We're passionate about cat and dog health. We're passionate about delighting the people who visit our stores. And we're passionate about investing in one another. We're a company of owners-almost every Mud Bay staffer will become eligible for a long-term stake in Mud Bay within two years of joining us. But Muddies thought and acted like business owners years before we launched our Employee Stock Ownership Plan in 2015. Muddies are down-to-earth, casual and from-the heart. We work hard, and we can be intense about doing our best. • Employee Ownership Muddies who work at least 1000 hours over a 50 week period will automatically qualify to become company owners through Mud Bay's Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
