Our client, a very large aluminum manufacturer located in a magnificent setting in western Tennessee.
Due to their continued growth, there is an immediate need to attract a top notch Metallurgist ( or Materials Scientist ) to their team who will
* be responsible for implementing technical and quality systems and methods in an aluminum extrusion mill.
* work in the Quality Department reporting to the Quality Manager
* be involved with the day-to-day metallurgical and quality requirements of the product.
* be responsible for special projects and total mill quality practices.
* identify and act to resolve problems in the production process.
* work with Sales and the customers to determine job requirements and resolve technical problems.
* be responsible for sections of the quality practice related to ISO9001 and AS9100 Quality Systems.
* develop, plan, and implement process or product improvement projects in a manufacturing environment.
* provide technical support to production, maintenance, engineering, and sales and marketing groups.
* develop processes to maximize capacity utilization, minimize cost and provide and statistically sound product performance.

REQUIREMENTS
* US Citizen (must be able to obtain DoD security clearance)
* Degree in Metallurgy, Material Science, or Chemical Engineering
* Knowledge of current quality requirements of ISO9001 and AS9100
* Experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma. Proven ability to work in a low supervision environment while successfully meeting goals.
* Industrial experience with Aluminum (extrusion or casting, forging, rolling, heat treat, hard alloys, etc...)
