A biopharma company is hiring! For over 40 years this company has specialized in the development, production, and distribution of plasma-derived products. Their plant on Long Island, NY, has undergone a total renovation and now needs a Controls Technician to help keep things running smoothly.
As their Controls Technician, you will perform advanced maintenance on equipment that monitors the flow, temperature, density, level, and pressure of process equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CONTROLS TECHNICIAN:
* Communicate with manager/team leaderfor work priorities and assignments
* Communicate any findings with management
* Assistin the replacement, commissioning, calibration and adjustment of complex measurement instrumentation.
* Troubleshootand determinethe root cause and appropriate course of action to repair complex instrumentation and control systems.
* Maintainand repairmotors, starters, drives, PLCs and HMIs, low-medium-hi voltage systems and instrumentation throughout the entire facility.
* Replace, repair, troubleshoot, calibrate, or cleanelectrical, instrumentation, and advanced automation systems.
* Changehardware and configuresoftware in system to maintain interface between automation and operations as needed.
* Responsible for "housekeeping" and safe work in all areas related to electrical and automation.
* Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements and documentation requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* High school diploma or GED required, Associates degree in Engineering or related field is preferred
* 5+ years of Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Experience
* Strong PLC / controls troubleshooting experience (Allen Bradley / ControlLogix is preferred)
* 5 years or more of hands-on building automation experience; electrical/mechanical maintenance or service experience in an industrial/heavy commercial environment or with industrial equipment
* Deep technical knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, AHUs, VAVs, boilers, chillers etc.
* Excellent blueprint and electrical schematic/ladder logic comprehension skills
* Safety conscious
ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
* Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience is a plus
* Networking experience and use of networked systems is a plus
* Familiarity with Siemens BMS is a plus
* 3 years Electrical Wiring experience is preferred
