About this job

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Determine most efficient method to produce parts to customer drawings.
* Gather data for analysis of manufacturing performance.
* Devise new methods of tooling.
* Evaluate product design and recommend design changes to improve manufacturing and increase part quality.
* Assist in problem solving in areas of quality and production.
* Contact potential customers and acquire technical information regarding product needs.
* Evaluate information obtained from customer to determine best course of action regarding production of product.
* Prepare follow-up reports and make recommendations for improvements when necessary.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Train production staff in tooling when necessary.
* Estimate cycle times and tooling costs for quoting purposes in absence of Quote Engineer.Communicate all necessary information to Management, Production, Quality, Tooling, Maintenance and fellow employees in a professional and courteous manner.
* Housekeeping: maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner, keep floors clean and free of oil & chips.
* Perform all safety inspections to equipment daily, use proper machine guards and lifting techniques. * Follow company policies, procedures and safety rules as described in the Employee Handbook.
* Knowledge of screw machine concepts of proper speeds & feeds, machiningof materials, tooling, attachments & machine operation. * Ability to read, understand and apply machine manuals to daily operations
* Ability to draw, read and understand Blue Prints using 2D or 3D CAD System, use spreadsheets, databases, Word processing, Shop information system and internet to perform responsibilities.
* Ability to use and interpret all precision measuring gauges including micrometers and calipers, comparators & special gauges.
* Working knowledge of trigonometry.
* Excellent organization, time management skills, and to work well with others, communicate & listen to an employee describe problems and be able to train machining skills.

* Wearing of personal protection equipment
* Lockout/Tag out
* Fire response and evacuation
* Ergonomics
* Lifting policy
EDUCATION,TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
* BS Engineering
* Ability to use complicated math and Engineering concepts.
* Minimum of 3-5 years experience in screw machine environment or equivalent education/experience in related environment. * CNC experience helpful.
