Manufacturer of confection based dietary supplements and nutritional vitamins supplying the sports nutrition, natural product and nutraceutical markets.
200K sq.ft. Plant with 500 employees, 5-day, 3 shift, 3 mogul lines, 14 packaging lines, producing 30mm products daily. Company holds 37% of this market.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prevention of serious incidents through high risk activity management processes, emergency response planning, safety in operations and contractor safety.
Responsible for monitoring risks, trending of metrics and develop reports and metrics that will be used to drive accountability and action.
Serve as the primary contact for the implementation of the EHS programs.
Accountable for EHS performance metrics and implementation of annual improvement plans.
Inspecting, auditing and reviewing safe work practices to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
Conduct workplace risk and exposure assessments for various classes of hazards.
Support incident investigations and root cause analysis to identify corrective and preventive actions.
Conduct regulatory training programs to meet EHS requirements.
Qualifications:
5+ years experience in the safety or environment management field implementing processes at a large production / manufacturing site.
Working knowledge of U.S Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and CAL/OSHA regulations and standards and other
non-regulatory safety standards applicable to the location.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) and web-based software applications.
Certified First Aid / CPR Trainer status preferred.
Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to lead teams, produce and maintain timelines, create dashboards and track
metrics and assemble project information into clearly written reports that document findings, actions and progress.
