Media Supervisor
Annual Salary $75k to $90k, Depending on experience

With dedicated departments for print services, motion graphics, AV, social media, interactive/digital, as well as media planning & buying, we regularly develop fully integrated global marketing campaigns for some major brands across genres.
We are looking for a new member of our in-house media team. In this position, you will direct the day-to-day account activities of the group and play a key role in the translation of marketing and advertising objectives into overall media strategies; you will also direct development of media plans consistent with the approved strategy. You will be responsible for developing the skills and knowledge of assigned Associate(s) and/or Senior Associate(s).
You will be accountable for:
Plan Development and Maintenance
  • Partner with Associate Media Director on all aspects of communication plan development and recommendations
  • Demonstrate full understanding of Clients businesses as basis for all future work
  • Ensure integration & coordination between various communications programs
  • Determine and supervise the best possible implementation of all approved communication plans and projects
  • Direct marketing and media analysis to support recommendations
  • Seek, investigate and actively pursue innovative communications opportunities
  • Provide Client with strategic points-of-view
  • Prepare and present communication plans, as needed, including objectives, strategy, rationale, and all backup materials
  • Develop innovative ways to present the teams work
  • Supervise and monitor implementation of all media plans/buys where applicable
  • Assist the Associate Media Director and Director in the negotiation of long-term media contracts
  • Oversee long term partnerships with media companies
  • Act as primary planning / buying integration contact for outside agency partners
  • Oversee all added value programs / opportunities to ensure smooth execution
  • Keep abreast of current events, media trends and any target market industry trends that impact business
  • Identify opportunities for cross-platform deals, when appropriate
  • Present media plans to clients
Team Management and Leadership
  • Lead Senior Associate in setting brand strategies and developing appropriate media plans
  • Delegate work effectively to teach direct reports, as well as deliver seamless work to client
  • Supervise, guide and counsel Senior Associate(s) and/or Associate(s) on all day-to-day activities
  • Train planning staff in media and marketing disciplines as well as the specifics of the Clients business and industry
  • Encourage and support staff attendance in various media training programs
  • Manage group dynamics between Senior Associate(s) and/or Associate(s)
  • Accurately, objectively and constructively evaluate performance of Senior Associate(s) and/or Associate(s) via talent development process
  • Check for accuracy, timeliness and quality of all media group outputs
  • Demonstrate a desire to create improvement and better outcomes through innovation / approaching things in new ways
  • Think of new solutions to your work / client challenges
  • Create and contribute to an environment where Innovation as usual thrives in everyday work
  • Supervise the Strategist and Assistant Strategist on day-to-day activities
  • Train Strategist and Assistant Strategist in all aspects of the planning process, as well as the client(s) business and industry
  • Update account/media team on status of all client projects
Account Management
  • Provide insightful updates to media and agency partners on the status of all account projects
  • Initiate appropriate cross-functional client meetings
  • Assume ultimate media financial accountability with Client Accounting and agency partners
  • Attend and participate in Client / Agency meetings as the day-to-day product group representative from the media department
  • Act with high integrity when managing solid relationships across agency and media partners in order to ensure brand understanding, more effectively sell ideas, and contribute to positive Agency evaluations
Knowledge and Skills Required
  • Experience in Client Facing
  • 1.5 - 3 years previous digital media experience
  • Prior supervisor/management experience required
  • Advance computer knowledge (Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Experience with a third party ad server (DART/DFA preferred)
  • Strong writing, verbal, presentation and strategic and analytical thinking skills
  • Able to work independently and have excellent time management skills
  • Problem solver with the ability to develop creative solutions
  • Organized, and detail-oriented with strong attention to follow-through
  • Nimble and flexible to succeed in a fast-paced environment and handle ad hoc requests
  • Strong team player
  • Interest and familiarity through use of digital media
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once
