Qualified applicants for Caterings Sales Manager would have:
- A minimum of a year of Hotel Sales experience
- Catering Sales experience a plus
- Hotel Sales Pro knowledge preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on your event bookings.


SUMMARY

Performs catering sales duties and aids in managing accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and to solicit past and new business to ensure all catering revenue goals are achieved or exceeded. Coordinates the development and solicitation of business from all markets to ensure the necessary advance bookings needed for a successful and profitable catering operation for the hotel. This position is responsible for booking events, creating banquet event orders, contracts and finalizing function details. In addition to catering duties, this person will also be responsible for coordinating all corporate and special event business.


MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

Essential Functions

1. Handle accounts details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and

documented. Coordinate various departments' participation in servicing accounts.

2. Maintains all files, correspondence and records in the department. Typing, filing, answering phones, taking messages.

3. Prepare information for, meet with and entertain clients as deemed appropriate by potential business from that account.

4. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the Hotel.

5. Upon employment, all team members are required to fully comply with the Hotel's rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of Hotel facilities. Team members who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

6. Assist the supportive staff with the maintenance of sales files.

7. Other duties as assigned such as ordering amenities for meeting planners or VIP's.
8. Increases visibility of the Hotel by actively participating in the community.

9. Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of

significance.

10. Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.

11. Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company team members to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate.

12. At all times projects a favorable image of The Hotel Group & Hotel to the public.

13. Knowledge of a Hotel structure and how all departments interact.

14. Basic mathematical and calculator skills to prepare cost proposals.

15. Ability to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and positive manner, in order to solicit business, meet client needs and resolve complaints.

16. Ability to move throughout the Hotel to conduct site inspections.

17. Ability to listen, speak and write English to ascertain and respond to client needs.
