SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

  • As a Delivery Driver you will make deliveries Monday – Friday driving our fleet of vehicles, including 16’ & 24’ trucks; all equipped with lift-gates.  Our drivers deliver multiple stops per day to a variety of facilities and businesses.  In general, our drivers run established routes; you have the opportunity to get to know our customers, build relationships and create customer loyalty.  When you're not driving our trucks, you'll be working with us in our warehouse performing routine warehouse operations and working one-on-one with our walk in customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:                                                                                           

  • Less than 75% of this employee’s time will be spent in either the Delivery Driver or Warehouse Associate job functions – it will be a good mix of the two. 
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip responsibilities in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and USI policies and procedures.
  • Loading the truck in an efficient manner for unload.
  • Operating commercial vehicle in compliance with local, state and federal laws.
  • Completing deliveries, obtaining delivery confirmation and providing excellent customer service.
  • Immediately inform supervisor of any deviations and/or delays.
  • Complete Department of Transportation (DOT) logs as required, company vehicle maintenance reports and reconcile with appropriate company representative as required.
  • May assist with all inventory control procedures, as required.
  • Coordinate with Branch Manager on truck repairs and maintenance.
  • May assist in determining future material, truck, and equipment needs.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of vehicle.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as motorized carts, pallet jacks, etc. 
  • Pick, check, package, and ship orders. 
  • Receive new inventory, place and put away product. 
  • Perform inventory control functions, and maintain inventory accuracy. 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

As a Warehouse Associate / Delivery Driver you must be a team player with excellent customer service skills and the drive to succeed. Qualified candidates are self-motivated, responsible, highly organized and able to multitask in a fast paced and changing environment. Successful candidates will have:

  • 1-3 years of delivery experience in a service oriented position preferably operating 16' to 24' straight trucks
  • All candidates must possess an active valid drivers license and good driving record.
  • Ability to load and unload heavy items up to 100 lbs.
  • Must pass DOT physical, criminal check and drug screen.
  • Must have the ability to work overtime as required.  Valid driver’s license required; Prior driving experience preferred. 
  • Self-directed; ability to work independently.
  • Customer service oriented with great attention to detail and quality. 
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions (i.e., work orders), plus short communications and memos; must be able to write simple correspondence. 
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening. 
  • Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle History report. 
  • Must be authorized to work in the US, no exceptions
