University Auxiliary Services at Albany, Inc. (UAS) is looking for an experienced and committed food service professional with at least 5 years of hands on management experience, including food production, customer service, quality assurance, kitchen equipment and fixed asset management, as well as proficiency in Word and Excel. Candidates must also have at least a bachelor’s degree (lesser degree with other appropriate experience will be considered), and be willing to work a flexible schedule that will include early morning, night, weekend and holiday shifts.

The successful candidate for this position will be knowledgeable about current trends, developments and regulations related to dining operations and equipment, and possess proven organizational, leadership and management skills.  Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills (in both written and spoken formats), strong analytical skills, a demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service, and the ability to work independently and as a team member in a culturally diverse environment are required.

Under the supervision of the Associate Executive Director of Operations, the Senior Manager of Dining and Contracted Operations provides skilled professional support and leadership for the UAS contracted service operations on campus.  Responsibilities include management of all dining and kitchen equipment assets (inventory, maintenance and repair, replacement, sourcing and ordering, follow up and receiving, set up and training, warranty tracking).  In addition, this position ensures that contract standards, including but not limited to food quality, service and safety are maintained for dining, vending, storage, laundry and other related services, and supports the Associate Executive Director of Operations by overseeing assigned components of facility renovations and construction projects, and by performing other functions as required.

University Auxiliary Services at Albany, Inc. (UAS), is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation in Albany, New York that invests in and provides services to enhance the educational, research, learning and living experiences of the University at Albany community. While UAS offices are located at University at Albany, this is neither a New York State nor a SUNY position, as UAS is an independent nonprofit corporation and neither State, nor University benefits and pay scales apply.

Qualified candidates must send their resume and cover letter including salary expectations to nharrigan@albany.edu.
