Automotive Technician - Full-time

Initiates automotive services and repairs by diagnosing performance problems and services requested, verifying warranty work, writing estimates and repair orders, as well as maintaining customer rapport and records.

Job Duties:

• All vehicles upon arrival will go through a thorough safety check. We repair and replace any component that is broken or has failed.
• Diagnose automotive problems and services by listening to customer's description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; taking test drives; checking vehicle maintenance records if available; examining service schedules.
• Servicing mostly late model cars and trucks with an emphasis on European brands (Volvo, Mercedes, Audi, Volkswagen etc.)
• Verifies warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions.
• Develops estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor; calculating customer's payment, including deductibles if any.
• Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required; obtaining approval signatures.
• Maintains customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtaining customer's approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions and concerns; scheduling repairs accordingly.
• Maintains automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers' publications.
• Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Skills/Qualifications:

You need to have your own tools. Need two or more years of experience working in the field on a variety of different vehicles. Must have a good personality and work well with others. Equipment maintenance, Lifting, Problem Solving, Reporting research results, Quality focus, Productivity, Estimating, Product knowledge, Customer service and Safety management are all required. ASE certified is a plus but not required. Applicant must have a valid driver’s license and provide two or more references.

Hours are from 9am to 5pm Monday thru Friday no nights or weekends. Pay will depend on knowledge and experience. This is a drug and alcohol free work place.
