Composite Technician- Direct Placement $17-21/hr

We are looking for 10 Composite Technicians for our client in Los Alamitos, CA


They will be responsible for the fabrication of composite/non-metal components and products.
They will measure, cut trim, and apply the insulation material to the tubular ducting. This insulation helps the ducting systems withstand very low, and very high temperatures.

• Will utilize blueprints and instructions to perform marking, trimming, cutting, drilling and assembly of composite/non-metal parts.
• Perform operations such as vacuum bagging/sealing, curing and trimming insulation materials, applying plastic impregnated fiberglass fabric and metal to semi-finished blankets, cutting materials to pattern, hand lay-up, wrapping insulation blankets on to ducting.
• Wet lay-up of fiberglass, resin, and prepreg materials from blueprints/work instructions.
• Hand lay-up of resin-type sheet material or hand fabrication of very thin (almost foil-like) sheet metal. (Prefer people with this experience, but it's not a deal breaker.)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous Aerospace Composite fabrication and/or assembly experience HIGHLY desired (but not a must have).
• Cutting patterns per blueprint specifications.
• Hand lay-up.
• Understanding of and ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to use standard manufacturing measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, scales, height gauges, depth gauges, etc.
• Curing and trimming insulation materials.
• Applying plastic impregnated fiberglass fabric and metal to semi-finished insulation blankets.
• Wrapping insulation blankets onto metal ducting.
• Use of various hand tools.
• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Must be capable of working with tight tolerances such as + or - .001
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

This is a Direct Placement position paying $17-25/hr
