About this job
The Broadband Technician will work both inside and outside the home and is responsible for the installation, service, and customer experience of the new Broadband integrated digital TV, high speed Internet and voice services. This individual should be customer focused and committed to ensuring the highest degree of end-user satisfaction, as well as being well versed in the fundamentals of residential customer wiring and installation.
Job Requirements:
- Must possess a strong commitment to customer service and an enthusiastic demeanor.
- Must be able to work flexible hours with the understanding that workdays can be in excess of normal hours and some weekend and holiday work may be required
- Must have a valid Driver's license Key Competencies:
- Installation and termination of twisted pair cabling and COAX
- Configuration of customer-owned computers
- Educating customer about ordered services
- Verification of service
- Taking DB loss readings at all splitter points and terminated ends
- Initializing set up box for activation on fiber network
- Educating customer on video products and services
- Knowledge of Fiber & COAX cable splicing of various sizes and types
- Experience with test sets such as Signal Strength Meter and OTDR
- Experience with routers and home networking
- Technical understanding of loss, attenuation, and tiling
- Working within attics and placing wiring between walls
- Basic computer skills
