NOW HIRING: Distribution Engineer

Job Tasks Include:
Develops requirements for protection of facilities by preparing specifications for protective equipment, coordination studies, and switching orders as required by systems additions.

Assists other members of department in the analysis of the electrical and telecommunication systems using computerized engineering models and business databases to design improvements and additions to the electrical system based on cost benefit ratio.

Analyzes power outages and other electrical system disturbances using information obtained from SCADA reports, protective device operation readings and field inspections to prepare recommendations for system improvement.

Prepare and implement short and long-range work plans.

Determines material specifications and selections, and monitors construction and field engineering activities to ensure adherence to work plan schedules for system improvements.

Coordinates the design, construction, and testing activities for additions and improvements to the substation system.

Qualified candidates will posses the following:

1. Must have experience managing/leading 2+ people
2. 6-10 years in substation design supporting power transmission & distribution; not generation
3. Experience with weekly project management function; budgeting/cost (project planning experience is plus)

25% lead and develop junior staff members; QC of packages.
Develops accurate and economical substation construction drawings using computer aided design software.
