NAPA Heavy Duty Sales Group of NAPA Auto Parts is seeking a District Sales Manager to develop new customers and expand sales to existing customers at all distribution levels. This is a unique opportunity to join an aggressive, high-energy sales team that is a leader in the Heavy Duty industry. The District Sales Manager compensation package will include, salary plus bonus, vehicle, expenses, plus a comprehensive benefits program. All responses held in strict confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Driving sales and managing a sales territory through several key activities
  • Calling on NAPA Stores and their respective customers informing them of sales promotions and sales opportunities
  • Ability to recruit, select, hire and develop quality General Managers and ensure same for Core 4 positions
  • Perform calculations such as Gross Margin and understand financial documents, such as Profit and Loss Statements (P&L), invoices, etc.
  • Educating and training customers on heavy duty parts and products.
  • Working across organizational teams and functions to drive results and customer satisfaction.
  • Developing/managing internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Working with the local independent NAPA Stores to gain new customers using our heavy duty products.
  • Developing successful sales programs for the NAPA Distribution Center local market area.

Qualifications

  • 3 + years’ of selling experience.
  • 3 + years of experience managing a team of 10 – 20 General Managers who supervise from 10 – 30 Team Members in a fast-paced and highly dynamic retail environment
  • Previous Heavy Duty experience
  • Reside within one hour of a major metropolitan airport and able and willing to travel by car or air up to 20% of the time. Some overnight stays when applicable
  • Extensive knowledge of distribution channels and nuances – logistics, terms & conditions and marketing
  • Providing guidance, leadership, coaching and capability building to direct reports
  • Create and execute strategic plan to deliver on NAPA vision/objectives
  • At least seven years of documented sales success and experience in related markets
  • Proven experience with coaching, talent development and customer relationship management
  • *Must have inside sales management experience
  • Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent sales/marketing experience.
  • Experience with distribution into the construction industry is preferred
  • Experience and training in value selling and strategic growth is preferred
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
  • ASE P2 certified or ASE ready equivalent
