Ceramic Tile Production Assistant
LOCATION: Portland – Central Eastside
SALARY: $13/hour
JOB DESCRIPTION: A Portland-based modern tile ceramic studio located in the creative hub known as the Central Eastside Industrial District is looking for a hardworking Ceramic Tile Production Assistant! Candidate must be able to work in a variety of positions, i,e. bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, twisting, standing for an 8 hour shift, and be able move quickly between work stations. Must be self-sufficient and work independently for entire shift.
Position Summary for Production Assistant:
? Ceramic tile making operations, including extruding, cutting, and pressing clay
? Operating tile press and extruding equipment/machinery
? Loading and unloading multiple production ceramic kilns
? Glaze making-following recipes
? Ensuring quality control and verifying all factory orders for accuracy
? Cleaning/organization of studio
? Sanding and stacking off of greenware
? Set up tile bisque onto spray boards
? Meet and enforce consistent quality control standards
? Other duties as assigned
Position Competencies:
? Retain information-An individual who can take relayed information and apply it to future tasks
? Strong Math Skills a Must!
? Big Picture Mentality-A person who can see big picture with regards to production
? Physical-Must be able to move around easily and lift heavy material up to 50 lbs; agile and coordinated
? Experience in clay, manufacturing, studio environment is preferred
? Detail-Oriented-Pay close attention to detail and has finesse
? Positive and fun demeanor - CAN DO ATTITUDE!
Full time and Part time shifts are available. Typical shift for this position is 8:00am-4:30pm. Compensation for this Temp to Hire position is $13.00/hr. Eligible for partial benefits, including paid Company holidays and Paid Time Off if hired on after 90 days. We will follow up with qualified candidates in a timely manner and hope to fill the role ASAP.
