Position Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is the supervision of facilities repairs and maintenance, capital replacements and projects performed by the Corporate Facilities department and its vendors. Ensure all work is completed to Burlington Coat Factory standards. Frequent independent judgments are essential. As this is a Hands-On Supervisory position, the individual is required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies, local, state and federal laws. Position is responsible for the direct supervision of two or more Corporate Facilities technicians. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding and disciplining associates, setting objectives, appraising associate performance, and resolving complaints. Also included is insuring the satisfaction of their customers - the corporate associates.

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
• Supervise the day to day activities of the Corporate Facilities technicians
• Develop and implement proactive processes to improve service delivery to Corporate and DC associates
• Further develop internal teams abilities to perform Repair and Maintenance tasks in-house.
• Assist Corporate Facilities Director in the monitoring of expense and capital budgets
• Develop and execute on initiatives to improve facilities programs and drive positive results.
• Participate in RFP’s, bids and completed service verification
• Provide vendor performance assessment and implement improvement on quality, responsiveness and invoice compliance.
• Perform varied repairs on and in Corporate Facilities and associated equipment.
• Interact with and support Distribution Center maintenance staff
• Interact with and support corporate partners on special requests.
• Analyze work orders and repetitive requests, developing new strategies to address same
• Manage efforts to reduce energy consumption in partnership with the Energy Department.
• Perform special projects as assigned.

Note: Ability to be on call after hours and weekends for emergencies.

Scope and Impact:
The Corporate Facilities Supervisor is responsible for all activities necessary to maintain a safe, secure, and clean environment for all corporate and DC associates. Additionally, the Corporate Facilities Supervisor is responsible for interacting with all State, County and Municipal officials and complying with their recommendations, orders and mandates.

Accountabilities include management of team members, management of expense and capital budget, performing all duties to provide a clean, safe working environment for Corporate and DC associates in all BCF corporate facilities.





Education and Qualifications:
• Must possess in-depth technical understanding of trades involved with repairs and maintenance: Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry and H.V.A.C.
• Knowledge of Computerized Building Management Systems
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, organization and follow-up skills.
• Ability to balance and prioritize competing demands, lead a team and make decisions.
• Must possess a strong sense of urgency.
• Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• C.M.M.S. Facilities software knowledge required. Service Channel experience a plus.
• Occasional travel to regional (75 miles) corporate facilities.

Education: High School Degree or equivalent

Experience: Qualified candidates must possess a minimum of 10 years facilities maintenance experience and 5-7 years in a management role

Physical Requirements:
1. Able to sit for long periods in a shop environment
2. Must be able to communicate via phone, email and text messaging
3. Typing/keyboarding, use of work order management system
4. Lifting 50 lbs.
5. Must be capable of sending/receiving/reading/responding to emails
6. Travel requirements – between sites
7. Ability to safely climb a ladder up to 30’ and willing and able to work from high equipment such as scaffolding, mechanical lifts and roofs at a height of up to 5 stories
8. Available to be on call after hours and weekends.
