CORPORATE QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST
This person will be working directly with the VP of Operations on developing and implementing Quality Assurance and Operations practices in food manufacturing plant as well as traveling to co-packing plants.
This position is integral in assuring that new and exciting products supplied to customers meet all specifications of safety, compliance and consistency.

This person will be working directly with the VP of Operations on developing and implementing Quality Assurance and Operations practices in food manufacturing plant as well as traveling to co-packing plants.
This position is integral in assuring that new and exciting products supplied to customers meet all specifications of safety, compliance and consistency.
Responsibilities
- Create and update detailed manufacturing and ingredient specifications.
- Create and update finished product specification.
- Update recall program; perform mock recalls.
- Review product samples; assure that all products meet specifications; provide feedback to co-packers.
- Assure that all food safety protocols are being met.
- Provide regulatory guidance in food safety and labeling.
- Manage customer complaints; work with co-packers on corrective actions.
- Develop relationships and arrange for scheduled visits with 15-20 co-packing facilities across the United States.
- Perform regular on-site audits of production and distribution facilities.
- Commercialization with technical services team of line extensions and new items.
- Work with copacker on finished product specifications.
- Set up processes with copacker relevant to ensuring consistency of products.
- Provide recommendations to VP of Operations regarding potential corrective actions, improvements, efficiencies, throughput and cost-savings and assure that proper resolution is achieved and followed up.
- Handle customer complaints as needed; communicate to customers and suppliers to achieve proper resolutions
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, microbiology or lab science, preferred
- 3-5 years’ experience in a food manufacturing facility with increasing responsibility.
- Knowledge of GFSI certifications.
- Self-motivated. Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
