Position Summary:

The CNC Programmer will write CNC programs parts and assist other machinists with creating and modifying CNC programs. The CNC Programmer will also utilize CAD/CAM to download 3D models to CNC machines. He/she will also be responsible for molding tooling design and fabrication using 3D modeling software.

Primary Duties:
  1. Understand 2D and 3D drawings and create CNC programs complex new parts as needed.
  2. Create and maintain setup/instruction sheets for all programs.
  3. Develop and assist with the design of fixtures.
  4. Design, modify and repair rubber molding tooling. Machine new or repair rubber molding tooling.
  5. Document new designs in Solidworks.
  6. Review CNC programs, inserts and tooling to minimize machining cycle times and reduce tooling costs.
  7. Assist with part quoting estimates.
  8. Manage all insert and tooling inventory. Recommend and specify insert tooling.
  9. Complete special assignments as requested.
  10. Follow all safety rules.


Qualifications & Experience
  • A minimum of 10 years in a professional machine shop workplace.
  • Working knowledge of Mazatrol, HAAS and G-Code programming.
  • Working knowledge of MasterCAM or similar CAD/CAM software.
  • Knowledgeable with designing in Solidworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Experience using calipers, micrometers, bore gages and other machine shop measuring instruments.
  • Familiar with computers and computer technology.
  • Creative, out-of-the box thinker.
  • Strong technical aptitude. Have the ability to visualize fabrication steps and think through a complete manufacturing process.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with other employees to explain ideas and concepts.
  • Organized. Able to maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Drives at root cause to solve problems.
  • Team player.
  • Must read, write and speak English.
