- Approving in-process and finished products by confirming specifications and conducting measurement and visual tests.
- Completing various inspection reports as directed by the customer.
- Providing direction/instruction to inspectors with regards to customer specifications.
- Setting priorities for Inspectors.
- Maintaining the condition and the distribution of all measuring equipment as well as calibration requirements.
- Assisting in completing Certificates of Conformance as needed.
- Making recommendations for inspection equipment or fixturing to improve the current inspection process.
- Promoting a team environment among inspectors and machinists.
- Participating as a member of the root cause problem solving team to identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Following all safety rules.
- Performing all other duties as assigned.
- 5-7 years experience in a manufacturing environment in a quality inspection capacity.
- High school degree with additional training courses in quality processes. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experienced and knowledgeable with machine shop processes and measuring instruments (e.g. hand measuring tools, comparators, CMM’s).
- Understands AQL sampling plans.
- Familiar with Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.
- Strong critical thinking skills, analytical and data driven.
