Our client in Cranbury, NJ is looking for an Engineering Technician.

This is a 2nd shift position. Hours are Mon-Fr from 3.30pm to 12am.
  • This individual will be responsible for the support the chip mounting/lensing operations used to manufacture high power GaAs based laser structures.
  • These responsibilities are focused on the support of existing or new issues that require the support of Process Engineering during off shift hours.
  • This individual will be the sole point of contact for Production to contact with the purpose of resolving Qualify, Yield or Process related issues.
  • They will be instructed by the Engineering process owner the steps necessary to continue Productions and ensure the product quality.
  • This individual will follow the instructions provided by the Process owners and provide detailed reports at the conclusion of their shift.
  • In addition, they will provide and execute a containment plan for new issues that develop during the off-shift hours.
  • Support process sustaining activities include investigate yield excursions, disposition product to performance specifications, develop procedures and create real-time process documentation
  • Track of engineering changes by updating process documentation and procedures real time
  • Learn to operate and support the operation of production equipment
  • Align activities during off-shift hours with the existing work instructions and documentation to support standardized work in the production area.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in physics, material science, optical, electrical, mechanical or chemical engineering preferred
  • Must have a solid technical background
  • Candidate needs to be reliable, proactive
  • Ideal candidate will have experience with substrate fixtures, ideally in conjunction with vacuum equipment
