About this job
An established food company in San Clemente is looking for Manufacturing Technicians. In business for over 40 years, the company creates flavors for bakery, beverage, confection, dairy, savory, and nutraceutical applications. This position will start making small flavor batches in a lab setting, then move to compounding larger batches in a production environment. This is an opportunity to join a growing company for individuals interested in Manufacturing or Organic Science.
The 1 st shift is MONDAY through FRIDAY, 7:30AM to 4PM, with the possibility of overtime.
The 2 nd shift is MONDAY through THURSDAY, 4PM until 2:30AM. (This is an "Alternate Work Schedule" of four 10-hour days…NO Friday, Saturday, or Sunday)
This is a direct hire position and the pay starts at $17 to $20 an hour, based on experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
This position will be responsible for the following:
Measure and blend ingredients; heat or cool ingredients
Review final mixture for consistency, color, aroma, and texture

This position will be responsible for the following:
- Compound flavors:
Measure and blend ingredients; heat or cool ingredients
Review final mixture for consistency, color, aroma, and texture
- Clean and sanitize equipment
- Pack, verify weight, and label containers
- Previous chemical compounding experience required
- Basic math skills
- Ability to use a computer
- Ability to multi-task and complete time-sensitive tasks
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- High School diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
- No food allergies
- Must be able to wear a respirator and climb stairs
- Reliable, predictable attendance
