Client in the Kingsburg/Selma area is looking for an experienced Production Supervisor.

Basic Function:

The primary goals are to ensure safe and efficient production and the highest product integrity. Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Write Standard Operating Procedures for the facility and ensure that policies and procedures are followed in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Participate in scheduling production and labor resources to assure smooth plant operations.
    • Ensure that adequate personnel, materials, supplies, tools and equipment are available for assigned shift work.
    • Maintain the flow of work throughout the mill anticipating and investigating production delays, maintenance breakdowns and inadequate work performance and take corrective action.
    • Continuously maintain awareness of any production problems and develop strategies and procedures to correct existing problems and help eliminate any future production related issues.
  • Immediate supervision over hourly maintenance and production workers.
    • Assist, instruct, direct and train employees in daily tasks.
    • When necessary work alongside employees on rails, production and scale house.
  • Maintain communication and accessibility with other managers.
  • Enforce company policies and best practices regarding safety and environmental compliance.
    • Specific attention to LOTO and confined space entry procedures.
    • Report unsafe work conditions.
  • Ensure good housekeeping of the work place.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Mill Manager.
Qualifications:

Qualifications and Competencies:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability necessary to perform this job successfully:
  • Education/Experience:
    • A high school diploma or its equivalent is required
    • Three (3) years lead role experience preferred
    • Five (5) years manufacturing experience
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
      • Bilingual preferred
    • Computer software skills to include Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Excellent time management
    • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
    • Adhere to the highest standards of ethics, integrity and credibility
    • Understanding of plant operational processes and procedures, including routine and emergency start-up and shutdown practices
    • Familiarity with industrial equipment operations and care, specifically dryers, and gravity tables
    • Mechanical and welding experience preferred
    • Proficiency with basic computer software (Microsoft Office applications)
    • Demonstrated interpersonal skills
    • Ability to keep detailed, accurate records
    • Highly organized, pro-active, self-motivated and honest
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Must be able to lift and work overhead, to stoop and to crouch
    • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
    • Must be able to climb ladders and work at elevations of 175 ft.
