About this job

The Electrical Engineering Technician will be responsible for using knowledge of electronic theory and electronic test equipment to troubleshoot and repair the electrical and process control systems of our industrial converting manufacturing equipment.

The primary responsibilities of this position include the following:
  • Apply electrical theory and deductive reasoning to diagnose causes of equipment malfunction or failure.
  • Utilize diagnostic equipment and processes to aid in troubleshooting.
  • Analyze controller logic and programming to aid in troubleshooting.
  • Effectively read and interpret electrical blueprints.
  • Perform repair of electrical and electronic equipment systems.
  • Provide detailed corrective action data when closing work orders.
  • Determine preventive actions to improve reliability of manufacturing equipment.
  • Mentor and train maintenance technicians on electrical theory and troubleshooting.
  • Correspond frequently with Maintenance staff to ensure procedures are followed and deadlines are met.
  • Analyze downtime data and present continuous improvement solutions to the Engineering and Maintenance staff.
  • Create documents that provide guidance in troubleshooting downtime, waste issues, etc. on facility machinery.
Qualification

Education
  • Associate’s degree in engineering or science field.
Relevant Work Experience
  • At least 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
Additional
  • Knowledge and experience using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools.
  • Excellent statistical/mathematical aptitude.
  • Technical writing ability.
Preferred Qualifications


Education
  • Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field
Relevant Work Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience supporting a high-speed manufacturing facility, preferably in non-wovens or paper converting environment.
Additional Requirements
  • Advance electrical and process troubleshooting skills
  • Working knowledge of Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC
  • Working knowledge of 3-phase and servo motors, sensors, proximity switches, relays, pneumatic valves, HMI’s, Accusentry/Cognix Vision Systems
