Description

Group Lead Relief Line Operator
The Group Lead Relief Line Operator is responsible for complete operation of assigned relief stations and all other associated work.

Pay Rate
The rate of pay for this position is $22.78 per hour plus an additional shift differential per hour depending on the shift scheduled to work.

Shift and Schedule
This is a unionized facility and shift assignments are based on seniority as well as business needs. This is a full-time position and will work on either our 2nd or 3rd shift. Our 2nd shift typically runs from 2:00pm until 10:30pm. Our 3rd shift typically runs 10:00pm until 6:30am. Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as well as the ability to adapt to changing schedules is required.

Position Responsbilities

1. Assists Supervisors in planning departmental work

2. Departmental Administrative Duites and Placement of employees on specific jobs

3. Capable of handling all aspects of filling out timesheets.

4. May be called upon to relieve employees on key positions

5. Required to handle empty cases and other line problems when not relieving, train others operators, perform Best Practice quality checks, watch for defective materials, and perform any other related work in accordance with on-line quality and Best Practice procedures.

6. Responsible for cleaning and sanitation of all equipment and facility as required.

7. Perform PMs and mechanical repairs, as defined in the level 1 (operational) accountabilities. Assists mechanics during repairs

8. Must actively work to optimize machine and overall line performance.

9. Also must be willing and able to do changeovers

10. Responsible for performing all required quality inspections and associated paperwork at assigned workstations.

11. May be called upon to investigate safety, quality or productivity issues and present that information to management.

12. Makes necessary process adjustments based upon data gathered during the quality inspection process.

13. Identify problems and correct situation or notify supervisor. May be called upon to investigate safety, quality or productivity issues and present that information to management.Train other operators

14. Group Leaders can be asked to provide technical feedback regarding an applicant’s skills and abilities in accordance with Article VI Section 4 of the Labor Agreement.

15. Sees that work area is kept neat and orderly

16. Must be proficient in MS office Suite with an in depth knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint. Must have excellent written and verbal communication that fosters team member skill set improvements through development of SOP, One Point Instructional Lessons and use of Visual Management tools.

17. Must possess a strong technical competency that can be leveraged to mitigate safety risks and reduce performance downtime..

18. Wear all required safety gear and follow all GMP rules and regulations

19. Must be flexible in working different shifts, on a weekly basis, as the business requires

Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience in a leadership role developing individuals, coaching, mentoring and building in a team environment
  • 1 year of experience with operation of high-speed machinery and monitoring of product quality
  • 1 year of experience in the food, beverage, chemical, or pharmaceutical industry
  • 2 years of experience with Microsoft Excel
  • 2 years of experience with Occupational Safety Regulations
  • Lift, push and pull a minimum of 50lbs repeatedly
