Description

Maintenance Mechanic

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining packaging and processing machinery such as fillers, cappers, case packers, box formers, hot melt sealing systems, printers, labelers, pumps, mixers and valves. Other equipment would be as motors, conveyor systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, production machines, bulk delivery equipment, blending/mixing systems as well as general building maintenance.

Shift and Schedule

** This facility is a unionized facility shift assignments are based on seniority and the business needs. Must to be flexible to work on all shifts depending on the needs of the business.**

This is a full time permanent position working on either 2nd or 3rd shift. 2nd shift hours are from 1:30pm - 10:00pm Monday - Friday and 3rd shift hours are from 9:30pm - 6:00am Monday - Friday. Must be open to overtime and weekends as needed.

Position Responsibilities
  1. Analyze mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic or electrical problems and make repairs through adjustments, defective parts replacement, or fabrication.
  2. Fabricate, repair, and install hangers and all types of piping including hot/cold water, steam, process and condensate, utilizing formulas for all phases.
  3. Weld various types of metals.
  4. Machine most metals, plastics, and composites.
  5. Fabricate or replicate minor pieces for the repair or replacement of parts on equipment.
  6. Perform preventative maintenance tasks on all equipment.
  7. Complete work orders and confirmations in SAP.
  8. Identify problems and completes repairs, with minimal downtime or supervision.

Qualifications

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • 2 years of maintenance experience working on pneumatic and hydraulic systems in an manufacturing facility
  • 2 years of maintenance experience working on conveyer systems in an manufacturing facility
  • 1 year of prior basic knowledge of PLC troubleshooting
  • 1 year of prior basic knowledge of electrical Hi/Lo voltage
  • Lift, push, and pull 50 pounds repeatedly, walking and standing for long period of time
