Description

Fleet Mechanic II

The Fleet Mechanic II will perform scheduled preventative maintenance and necessary repairs to automobiles, trucks (light and heavy), trailers, vans and forklifts as directed by Fleet Manager.

Shift and Schedule
This is a full time permanent position. Must be flexible to start between the hours of 8am and 11am and work the scheduled shift duration. The shift duration is anywhere between 8 and 10 hours depending on the business needs.

Position Responsibilities
  1. Meet the maintenance demands of the Sales and Supply Chain functions and perform quality work at the lowest cost to minimize equipment downtime.
  2. Maintain, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on all fleet equipment.
  3. Diagnose vehicle failures and disassemble, repair, and reassemble parts as necessary.
  4. Proficient in the following areas of maintenance:
    • Preventative Maintenance
    • Electrical
    • Minor engine work
    • Engine electronics
    • Suspension
    • Chassis/frame
    • Brakes
    • Drive train
    • Heating and A/C
    • Hydraulics
    • Cab and body
    • Welding and fabrication
  5. Respond to service calls and pick up and deliver vehicles.
  6. Operate in a safe, well organized, and clean work environment (must be able to tolerate hot and cold temperatures depending on the season).
  7. Input data accurately and in a timely manner in to the DPS fleet maintenance software program (SAP EAM).
  8. Maintain records of daily check list (pre-trip inspections) and complete all necessary documentation, including vehicle records.
  9. Order and inventory parts.
  10. Adhere to OSHA, DOT and EPA regulatory compliance standards.
  11. The training and experience that comes from the following certifications will be utilized as part of the position responsibilities and will be required to achieve within the first year of employment with Dr Pepper Snapple Group:
    • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification for maintenance
    • DOT Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A)
    • DOT brake and annual inspection certification
    • A/C Certification
    • Forklift Operator License

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds repeatedly
  • 2 years of technical training or 2 years of mechanic experience on fleet equipment
  • Able to supply own set of tools
  • Willing and able to acquire the necessary certifications and licenses needed for the position within the first year of employment to include: ASE certification, DOT Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A), DOT brake and annual inspection certification, A/C certification, and Forklift Operator License
