Description

PLC Maintenance Mechanic Technician

The PLC Maintenance Mechanic Technician performs project management duties, maintenance and repairs of all pneumatic machines and line equipment.

Shift and Schedule

This facility is a unionized facility shift assignments are based on seniority as well as the business needs. There is no guarantee of shift or hours due to the changing needs of the business.

This is a full time permanent position working on either 2nd or 3rd shift. 2nd shift hours start at 2:00pm and will work anywhere from 8 to 12 hours Monday through Friday and 3rd shift hours start at 11:00pm and will work anywhere from 8 to 12 hours Monday through Friday depending on the needs of the business. Must be open to overtime and weekends as the business needs.

Position Responsibilities

  1. Will have shift responsibility for maintenance and calibration of micro-processor based control equipment
  2. General instrumentation and electrical control systems to carry out first line diagnostic
  3. Troubleshooting and maintenance work
  4. Ability to read and understand relay logic and schematic diagrams
  5. Perform tests and calibration procedures using test equipment and instrumentation which includes CRT terminals and data recorders
  6. Be able to work under pressure to diagnose problems
  7. Must have understanding of industrial power distribution and wiring practices.
  8. Installs panel boxes, remote control equipment, motors, power and lighting circuits.
  9. Keeps work area clean and orderly
  10. Performs all work in conformance with safe work practices

Qualifications

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • 3 years Electro/Mechanical experience
  • 3 years experience in project management, troubleshooting and repair of Pneumatic Control Systems, Allen Bradley PLC Systems, RSLinx, Process Control Instrumentation, 3 phase (480V) Circuits, Motor starters and controls and electronic circuit boards
  • Lift, push and pull a minimum of 50lbs repeatedly
