Provides administrative support for the day-to-day operations of all group benefits programs including but not limited to; group health, dental, vision, short term disability, long term disability, life insurance, flexible spending, and leave of absence. Successful applicant will be self-motivated, demonstrate a high level of professionalism, both verbally and written. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Process leave of absence administration in accordance with the policies and applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Disability Leave, etc).
- Coordinate short-term disability payments in the states that require it, and track benefit hours paid to associates during a leave of absence.
- Knowledgeable in benefits and leave of absence. Communicates thoroughly with Business Partners/Managers on all aspects of the leave process by phone and written correspondence (i. e. obtain required documentation, leave forms, health certifications and premium payments).
- Handle benefit administration processes, enter information into the Benefit Focus/Oracle system to meet critical deadlines for payroll and benefits enrollments when needed.
- Responds to and initiates inquiries regarding the Company s benefits programs, independently resolving problems whenever feasible.
- Answers questions Associates have regarding benefits offered and leave of absence.
- Review/Verify vendor files/rejection reports
- Occasionally conduct benefit information session during orientation
- Process death claims and long-term disability claims.
- Escalates exceptions or circumstances that are out-of-norm.
- Reviews and verifies incoming and outgoing documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least four years of employee benefits experience with emphasis on leave of absence or a Bachelor s degree and three years of related experience.
- (P) Bachelors preferred
- (R) Solid knowledge of employment law and benefits compliance, such as FMLA, ADA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA and ERISA
- (R) Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, communication, organizational and customer service skills.
- (R) Ability to interface with all levels within the organization.
- (R) Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a strong attention to detail
- (R) Ability to present ideas and recommend solutions.
- (R) Ability to prioritize and follow through with employee requests for assistance.
- (R) Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
- (R) Strong administrative abilities, problem solving and judgment skills.
- (R) Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- (R) Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word & Excel required and HRIS systems (Oracle preferred)
