Housekeeper - Full-time / Part-time

Job Description

This a Relief Housekeeper position with almost fulltime hours through the end of the year:

Have basic knowledge of good housekeeping practices. The housekeeper is capable of following Infection Control and Safety guidelines. Must have the interpersonal skills necessary to work well with others and communicate appropriately with other departments.

• Cleaning and maintenance of hard floor and carpeted surfaces. Spot cleaning to remove minor, stains.
• The miscellaneous cleaning of furnishings. Equipment, fixtures and wall surfaces.
• The upkeep and routine inspections of housekeeping equipment.
• Remove wastes from the hospital. Transports soiled linens to the sorting room. Transfers supplies to the work areas.
• Rotates into Laundry to assist with
  • Removing soiled linens from all departments to the sorting room. Returns clean sanitary linens to the areas of use.
  • Sorting linens and clothing and loads washers.
  • Drying and ironing of laundry; folding of linens and clothing; handing of garments.
• On-going awareness of policies, procedures, and the requirements of outside agencies.
• Participates in positive and effective communications; demonstrates flexibility to change as required; promotes inter/intra department teamwork; works efficiently and demonstrates integrity.

Job Requirements

High school diploma preferred. Previous housekeeping experience in a hospital setting preferred.
