Sorter - Full-time / Part-time

Job Description:

General Laundry Departments: Immediate 1st shift Openings

Operates commercial laundry equipment (e. g., washers, dryers, clothes press, folders, scales, clothing labeler), cleaning & sanitizing laundry. Washes, dries & processes laundry (e. g., runs through steam tunnel, folds, counts, stacks laundered items, sorts by identification tag, records damaged laundry).

Soiled Sorter Department:

Gathers soiled laundry from units & transports to laundry. Sorts soiled laundry (e. g., clothes, linens, bedspreads) by colors, records receipt & release of laundry handled. Delivers finished laundry to units.

Maintains cleanliness of area & equipment. Other laundry related duties (e. g., labels laundry, reports money or other personal items in laundry, weighs laundry). Records weights of laundry items being processed.

This is a production factory environment working a minimum of four 10hour shifts. This is a dayshift permanent position. Overtime will be required as business needs dictate.

Working hours: 6:00am to 4:00pm

Skills:

Major Worker Characteristics:

Knowledge of laundry practices & procedures, safety practices associated with use of machine equipment, ability to read an order sheet, addition & subtraction. Skilled in operation of production equipment. Ability to read, copy & record figures; recognize safety warnings; stand, walk or bend continuously, lift up to 25 lbs. repeatedly, move easily to perform manual functions repeatedly.
