Position Summary

Conducts the physical movement of inbound and outbound shipments, including shipments to both domestic and international customers, and distribution centers and branches within the organization along with associated documentation as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts the physical movement of inbound and outbound shipments, including shipments to both domestic and international customers, and distribution centers and branches within the organization along with associated documentation as required
  • Utilizes economical and efficient traffic/transportation services for the organization and its customers
  • Schedules and coordinates the routing of incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Utilizes rates, delivery terms, freight rates, and classifications with carriers as negotiated through corporate freight agreements
  • Analyzes carrier service performance
  • Implements new freight procedures and methods to reduce costs
  • Examines and approves payment of bills
  • Resolves claims for loss or damage
  • May also have lead person responsibility
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years of experience
