Essential Job Functions

  • Model "Customer 1st" behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
  • Display positive attitude; promote trust/respect among associates
  • Answer questions regarding products sold within the growler station area
  • Fill, seal, ring up customer growlers based on customer requests
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of growler station
  • Order, label, stock, inventory department merchandise
  • Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to store management
  • Use all equipment in department such as refrigerators, chillers, hand trucks, u-boats according to company guidelines
  • Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions; note any discrepancies in inventory
  • Process customer transactions via the cash register quickly, accurately, and efficiently. Understand the Point of Sale (POS) system, and handle various tenders such as cash, checks, credit, debit and checkout procedures according to company policy
  • Understand/adhere to company's limits on cash shortages and/or overages; work honestly effectively to control loss
  • Adhere to all local, state and federal laws, food safety regulations, company guidelines
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management
  • Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment; notify appropriate department/store manager of any items in need of repair
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents
  • Report all safety risk, or issues and illegal activity, including: robbery, theft or fraud

Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), plus a minimum of 6 months Fred Meyer experience and 1year related bar/retail experience; or combination of relevant education and experience
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Current food handlers permit once employed
  • Class 12 Mandatory Alcohol Server Training (MAST) permit once employed
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Ability to work weekends on a regular basis; overtime as needed
  • Accuracy/attention to detail
  • Ability to organize/prioritize a variety of tasks/projects
  • Familiarity with industry/technical terms/ and processes
  • Completion of the department's required WBL modules
  • Ability to operate the following special equipment, machinery, and/or special tools: forklift, compactor, pallet jack, Shelf Price Audit (SPA), Telzon, Swiftach
